【周佩萱╱綜合外電報導】英國肯特現年41歲的無牙居民傑森馬丁，和鄰居李察漢德森吵架，憤而咬傷對方的陰莖，遭法院判刑入獄7年。
 
事發是由於馬丁收到漢德森同居人簡訊抱怨他玩Xbox的聲音太大，要求他把音量轉小，因而惹惱馬丁，馬丁前去找對方理論，漢德森和馬丁先是起口角，最後引發全武行，馬丁一氣之下攻擊漢德森的下體，先是用手抓接著還用嘴巴咬，最終馬丁被捕，漢德森則送醫急救。
 
馬丁被以故意傷害罪起訴，法官認為馬丁蓄意造成對方極大傷害，而且完全沒有悔過之意，不過馬丁反駁表示自己不是同性戀，絕對沒想過要把對方的陰莖放入口中，當時只是為了防衛才攻擊，而且自己只剩下排幾顆牙齒，連要吃顆蛋都很困難，不過當時馬丁應是有戴假牙，至於被攻擊的漢德森則表示，他能感覺小弟弟和自己分離，這輩子從未感到這麼劇烈的疼痛。

【周佩萱╱綜合外電報導】10幾歲的孤兒，向來不是被領養的主要對象，面臨難搞的青少年時期，許多養父母都傾向領養10歲以下的小朋友，美國就有一名現年15歲的孤兒亨利(Davion Navar Henry)，主動勇敢發聲，告訴大家他想要一個家。

在監獄中出生的亨利，出生至今在不同寄養家庭中生活，上個月出席教堂做禮拜時，他提出想尋找人領養他的想法，神職人員安排他在禮拜後發言，穿著過大西裝的亨利，緊張地在眾人前演說表示：「我一出生就在寄養家庭生活，我知道上帝沒有放棄我，所以我也不能放棄自己，無論是誰，年輕或是年老，養父或是養母，黑人或是白人，願意領養我的話，我都沒關係，我會相當感激，盡力做到最好。」

一直等待媽媽出獄和他團聚的亨利，獲知媽媽今年6月病死在監獄中，他決定改變自己，控制自己的脾氣，並用功念書，這學期他除了地理外其他學科都拿到A的成績，不過目前為止，還沒有任何人表達收養意願。

彭博社報導，美國消費者眼見國會議員已敲定協議避免倒債並結束政府停擺，可能會在年底購物旺季如釋重負。

紐約復興總體研究公司（Renaissance MacroResearch LLC）美國經濟部主管杜達（Neil Dutta）預測，消費者信心在上週1項指數掉到9個月低點後將反彈。消費者情緒昂揚，對占美國經濟7成比重的消費支出來說是好兆頭。

杜達接受電訪時說，舉債上限協議或許會產生「消費者信心紓壓式反彈，和我們談到的股市紓壓式反彈一樣」。美股標準普爾500指數昨天彈漲1.4%，收在1721.54點。

紐約高頻經濟公司（High Frequency Economics）首席美國經濟師歐蘇利文（Jim O'Sullivan）指出，雖然尚未達成永久協議，但勞動市場逐漸好轉加上股市反彈，或許會幫助家庭無視華府未來的爭辯。

美國朝野達成的妥協，提供政府資金到明年1月15日，並暫停實施舉債上限到2月7日，屆時必將上演另1輪對決。歐蘇利文表示，隨著美國民眾愈來愈覺得民選官員是「在喊狼來了」，日後談判產生的任何影響都將被鈍化。

根據彭博社彙編數據，過去兩年歐蘇利文預測消費者信心準度奪冠，他說：「我們如今已經歷這種過程好幾次，終究還是躲過災難。大家認為狼根本就不存在，經過這回這觀點只會強化而已。」

上週公布的報告顯示，湯森路透/密西根大學10月消費者信心指數初值，從9月的77.5下滑至75.2，為1月以來最低水平。儘管如此，到目前為止家庭的反應，已沒有2011年中上回舉債上限議題鬧得沸沸揚揚時那麼嚴重。

自7月攀抵6年高點以來，密大信心指數已滑落將近10點，但到目前降幅仍比不上2011年7月至8月一口氣掉的將近16點。

歐蘇利文提到，即使當時美國痛失標準普爾公司（Standard & Poor's）給予的頂級信評，消費也沒有大幅降溫，甚至後續9個月每月信心都攀揚。他說，最近政府停擺造成的傷害「沒有太極端」。

這可能會緩和有些商家認為政府局部停擺和倒債耳語恐有損業績的疑慮。根據美國全國零售業基金會（NRF），零售業年營收約20%來自商機6000億美元的年底購物旺季，美國約4200萬人從事零售和相關行業。

連鎖休閒餐飲業者Ruby Tuesday Inc.總裁兼執行長布特根（James Buettgen）9日在法說會上表示：「無論是消費者信心、就業數據，還是現在政府停擺鬧出的問題，顯然都不會對建立信心產生太大幫助。除非情況明朗化，我們見到消費者在哪，否則有點難判斷局勢會怎麼發展。」
