引發外界嘩然的紐約華裔駕駛遭飛車黨圍毆案，再有新進展。1名臥底警察被拍到參與施暴，動手砸車，這名警察今天遭逮捕，這項發展引爆臥底警察該如何面對暴力事件的討論。

1名連姓華裔駕駛日前在高速公路上遭飛車黨追逐，並被揪出車外遭圍毆，當時車上還有他的妻子與年僅2歲的女兒，影帶曝光後引發輿論譁然。

紐約警方調查發現，在攻擊的飛車黨中，居然有臥底警員。根據公布的監視錄影帶畫面可以清楚看到，他砸毀休旅車後車窗。

這名現年32歲、從事警察工作10年的臥底警員布拉濟斯科（Wojciech Braszczok）已遭逮捕，並在今天正式開庭，被控以暴力攻擊與刑事破壞等罪名，但在繳付1萬美元現金後交保。

助理檢察官土瑞諾（Samantha Turino）表示，這名員警在這起攻擊事件中扮演積極的角色，也沒有採取任何阻止圍毆的行動，甚至在事件爆發後謊稱他不在現場。

這起事件也引發外界討論臥底警察的底線為何，面對暴力事件時，是該挺身而出協助被害者，還是得為了繼續查案而隱忍。不過可以確定的是，輿論一面倒向若不能暴露身份，也不該參與暴力攻擊。

紐約華裔聯邦眾議員孟昭文也對此事十分關心，昨天特別致函紐約市警察局局長凱利（Raymond Kelly）表示關切，希望瞭解警方對此事與涉案員警的處理進度。

馬英九總統今天與立法院長王金平互動良好，總統夫人周美青充分扮演「橋樑」角色，頻頻與王金平交頭接耳，笑言晏晏；反倒是一旁的馬總統似乎插不上話，幾度略微側頭，不知是想加入交談，還是聽看看王、周兩人聊什麼。

接著周美青分別向左、右咬耳朵，馬、王兩人接著同時笑著戴上遮陽帽，周美青笑得開懷，還幫馬總統把戴歪的帽子扶正。

接著整個觀禮過程，馬、王就戴著相同的遮陽帽，雖然沒有直接交談，但周美青一會兒與王金平交談，一會兒又與馬總統談話，雖然不知道三人聊什麼，但台上的氣氛，在周美青的努力下，看不出政爭造成的尷尬與不安，完全一派和諧。

她說：「一個孩子，一支筆，可以改變世界。」本刊獨家搶先披露她十月初新書，一窺其心路歷程。

十六歲的你，在做什麼？多數孩子在這個年紀，不是努力讀書，就是談著小戀愛；但一個名叫馬拉拉（Malala Yousafzai）的少女，卻在她十六歲生日這天，挺著頭部被槍擊後剛復原的身體，站上紐約聯合國講台（見上圖），向各國約五百名的政治領袖，呼籲讓所有兒童都能有受教育的自由。

來自巴基斯坦的馬拉拉，是今年諾貝爾和平獎的最大熱門，她也是該獎史上被提名者中最年輕的。和她競爭此獎的，有來自哥倫比亞的和平談判者、緬甸的民主改革人士，而馬拉拉卻僅是一位國中學生。

二○一二年十月九日，馬拉拉像平常一樣搭校車上課，一個戴著寬沿帽，拿著手帕掩蓋口鼻、長得像大學生的男子跳上車，命令式的問：「誰是馬拉拉？」沒有人開口，但好幾個女孩望向馬拉拉的方向，她是唯一沒有把臉包裹起來的女孩。

他舉起黑色柯爾特四十五型自動手槍，朝著馬拉拉開了三槍。第一槍射穿了她的左眼眶，子彈從左耳射出。另外兩發子彈擊中了身邊的女孩。子彈從她左眼傷疤處射入後，停在她的左肩，差一毫釐就當場斃命。

凶手是來自「塔利班」（編按：Taliban，發源於阿富汗坎大哈地區的伊斯蘭原教旨主義運動組織，大部分成員是阿富汗難民營伊斯蘭學校的學生）的武裝分子，行凶的動機正是因為馬拉拉觸犯了塔利班的禁忌：她為自己與所有巴基斯坦女性，爭取受教育的權利。

這個來自巴基斯坦史瓦特山區的女孩，並沒有什麼顯赫家世。一九九七年出生時，家裡窮到無法到醫院生產，僅能請鄰居幫忙接生。她是家中第一個孩子，但她的降臨卻沒有歡樂聲。在這個國家，家裡生兒子，大家鳴槍慶祝，若生女兒，則都要被藏在布簾後，更遑論上課學習。

她所居住的史瓦特谷，是一個像天堂一般的高山國度，有著「東方瑞士」美譽，雖然距離巴基斯坦首都只有一百英里（約合一百六十一公里）遠，但感覺卻像是兩個不同國家。當地多山、多湖泊加上好空氣，成了「九一一事件」主謀、蓋達組織首領奧薩瑪．賓拉登藏匿最佳之處。隨著賓拉登藏身此處，二○○七年塔利班武裝分子，逐漸控制馬拉拉居住的這片山區，這年她才十歲。

【林海全╱台中報導】台中梧棲童綜合醫院，上午舉辦國慶寶寶回娘家相見歡活動，邀請12名在10月10日出生的壽星回到醫院，一起慶生吃蛋糕。12歲的壽星陳怡甄說，「可以在這天出生，很開心，因為國家生日，我也生日，還可以放假一天。」
 
該院婦產科主任汪文生說，特別選在國慶日出生的媽媽，現在比較少，因為大部分的人選日子都挑農曆，不過，今天上午到9點多，醫院已經有3位寶寶出生，其中2個人剖腹產，1個人自然產，有7個人待產，最早出生的國慶寶寶，是凌晨零點24分、自然產的小男嬰。
 
首次為人母的媽媽陳琳臻〈32歲〉說，原本預產期在10月7日，不過，之前到醫院待產三次，小孩都沒有出生，沒想到，昨晚前來醫院待產，今天凌晨寶寶就出生了，「我沒有特別挑選日子，是小孩自己選在國慶日當天出生，真的好開心。」
