【綜合報導】英國23歲男子索普（Maxwell Thorpe）平日喜歡穿一身運動裝、棒球帽反戴、左耳戴耳環。光看外表，你絕對想不到他擁有難得一見的美聲歌喉，而且擅長演唱歌劇《公主徹夜未眠》、《哈利路亞》等高難度古典名曲。

索普先前已以一首在街頭演唱的《Time to Say Goodbye》，在YouTube博得逾10萬人次點閱，被網友封為「夏華洛帝」（Chavarotti）。他日前接受媒體訪問表示，自己一直是古典音樂發燒友，對演唱歌劇很有興趣。他視自己的美聲為上天給予的禮物，所以選擇在街頭演唱與所有人分享。
 
索普的天分令人聯想到參加選秀節目一砲而紅的手機店員保羅帕茲（Paul Potts），不過索普說他不打算參加選秀節目，「那種方式不適合我，我想帶來更完整、豐富的表演──更具哲學性的表演。」
