蘋果已故共同創辦人賈伯斯1983年與好友出席加州阿斯彭的一場會議，並決定一同埋下一個巨大的時光膠囊。這個時光膠囊原本應該要在20年前出土，但當時參加埋膠囊的人都忘了埋藏地點。

這個時光膠囊近日由國家地理頻道實境秀「挖掘者」接手調查並開挖，詳細內容將於節目中播出。英國每日郵報取得的照片顯示，內容物包括當時最新的蘋果滑鼠、筆記本、識別證等，甚至還有六罐啤酒。（英國每日郵報）

共和黨主導的眾議院以預算綁廢除歐巴馬健保改革法案預算通過「持續運作決議」，歐巴馬抨擊此舉將讓美國經濟衰退，國會必須立即通過預算與提高舉債上限，避免另一場危機。

距離10月1日美國新會計年度不到10天，美國華府陷入預算惡鬥中，聯邦政府無米可炊關門的可能性大增。

歐巴馬今天在每週例行談話中強調，共和黨保守派說服了他們的國會領導人，如果不能廢除歐巴馬健保改革法案「平價醫療法」（Affordable Care Act）預算，就威脅要讓政府停擺，甚至一些共和黨人實際上是願意讓美國出現債務違約狀況。

歐巴馬認為，否定數百萬美國人基本健保安全保障，共和黨人事實上是要讓美國重新陷入衰退，他重申不會與共和黨國會議員針對提高舉債上限協商立場。

「因為我們是富有同情心的國家，是世界投資的基石」，歐巴馬說，任何會威脅這些的行為，都是非常不負責任的，這也是他為什麼不拿美國整個信心與信用做談判的理由。

歐巴馬堅持不與共和黨談判舉債上限的立場，已經於20日直接電話告知共和黨籍聯邦眾議院議長貝納（John Boehner），歐巴馬認為，國會履行憲法最基本的職責，就是通過預算。

歐巴馬說，國會採取行動的時間已經很緊迫，如果不通過預算，美國國內與海外的軍人，將無法準時領取到薪水，聯邦政府貸款給農村社區、小企業主以及新購屋者款項會遭到凍結。一些攸關人類生命的發現以及再生能源重要研究，也會被迫停止，只要國會通過預算，這些都可以避免發生。

此外，歐巴馬也說，如果國會在未來數週內不提高舉債上限，美國將面臨債務違約危機，讓整個經濟面臨風險。

美國新的會計年度將於10月1日開始，國會若無法順利在會計年度結束前通過預算，聯邦政府面臨停擺命運，同時，美國16.7兆美元舉債規模也將於10月中旬觸頂，若預算惡鬥持續，美國也將面臨債務違約危機。
