新版愛滋病檢驗及治療指引公告實施，不僅給藥時機提早，而且有性伴侶的感染者隨時都能治療。

這份衛生福利部疾病管制署公告、醫界採用的新版（第四版）指引，將開始服藥的免疫指標CD4淋巴球數值，由小於或等於350調整為小於或等於500。這意謂著，當病人免疫力尚稱良好，甚至根本沒有發病症狀時，就可以吃藥抑制愛滋病毒。

此外，有性伴侶的愛滋感染者，不論CD4淋巴球數值為何，都可以開始治療。另外，對於愛滋病合併肺結核的感染者，以及預防愛滋孕婦感染胎兒，也一併修正給藥方針。

愛滋用藥由疾管署公費負擔，近年每年的愛滋藥費超過新台幣26億元，署長張峰義坦言，新版指引與世界衛生組織同步，可讓感染者減少併發症、延長生命，代價卻是藥費花得更多，而且是無底洞，目前的想法是請常常中斷服藥的感染者，暫時不要再服藥，以免病毒出現抗藥性。

疾管署第三組組長陳昶勳指出，現有1萬2600多人服藥治療愛滋，另有4000多人定期檢查而未服藥，常見理由是自覺身體狀況良好，吃藥反而會有副作用，例如四肢脂肪位移到腹部、肝功能受影響等，而且吃了就不能隨便停藥。

陳昶勳說，正在治療的感染者，平均是CD4淋巴球數值平均260到270時才開始服藥，新版指引可以提前給藥，有的感染者會想要早用藥早心安，有人可能不領情，但這會增加多少愛滋藥費負擔，大約要半年後才能具體評估。
