路透社報導，美國國務卿凱瑞4日告訴國會議員，至少10國承諾參與美國軍事干預敘利亞的行動，但是他沒有說這10國是哪些國家，也沒有說他們可能扮演何種角色。

美國參議院外交委員會稍早表決同意美國軍事懲罰敘利亞使用化學武器案。

英國國會上週拒絕支持對敘利亞動武之後，華府希望在沒有聯合國決議案之下，組織國際聯盟對付敘利亞這方面的工作，一直進行得很吃力。

目前法國與土耳其是支持美國總統歐巴馬行動最主要國家。雖然法國對敘動武不需要國會批准，議員仍於4日辯論本案。

【大紀元2013年09月02日訊】（大紀元記者周鳳臨綜合報導）加州這場燒了兩個星期的大火在消防隊伍奮戰之下，截至星期五（8月30日）已有近1/3被控制，山區的一些小的社區的疏散令解除。但大火形成和聚集的煙塵卻飄散到聖華金河谷（San Joaquin Valley）地區，對當地造成不小的麻煩。

加州森林和防火局發言人伯爾南特（Daniel Berlant）表示，隨著火勢漸漸被控制，最多時近5千名奮戰在一線的消防隊員可以減少了。

這場在塞拉內華達（Sierra Nevada）弗雷斯諾（Fresno）東北部持續燃燒了2個星期的大火，燒掉了315平方英里的野草、橡樹和松樹，是今年全美發生的最大火災，也晉升為加州有紀錄以來第5大火災。目前大約有32%的火勢被控制。

風原來將濃煙吹向東北，吹到塔霍湖地區和內華達，但週五風向轉向，將濃煙西向吹到了聖華金河谷底部。當地的空氣污染控制部門已經對聖華金（San Joaquin）、斯坦尼斯（Stanislaus）、墨西德（Merced）、瑪德拉（Madera）、弗雷斯諾（Fresno）和圖拉爾（Tulare）等縣發出了健康警報，建議看到或者聞到煙霧的呆在室內，對於有心肺疾病的、老人和小孩，需要特別加以防護。

公園方面表示，由於大火的關係，有一些人取消了預約，但很快有人填補上來。公園發言人柯布（Kari Cobb）表示，峽谷露營地仍然是滿的，優勝美地峽谷的天空晴朗無比。目前3個公園主要入口之一的120州際通道仍然有4英里禁止通行，對沿路依賴於旅遊的社區經濟造成一定衝擊。公園方面預計，在勞工節長假期間，每天可能有3千輛轎車駛過大門，比平常近5千輛的數字減少不少。

救火耗資已達4,700萬美元，不僅動用了來自41個州和哥倫比亞特區的消防員，還包括大量的航空資源投入到救火行動，包括滅火直升機、DC-10大型噴氣式滅火飛機等。滅火飛機在火場投下了170萬加侖阻燃劑和140萬加侖的水。

這場8月17日開始發生的火災的起火原因尚在調查中，估計完全控制尚需數週，恢復則需要更長的時間。

【綜合報導】前伊朗總統拉夫桑賈尼（Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani）1日對伊朗媒體表示，他相信敘利亞政府應該要為以化武攻擊平民負責任，這與伊朗官方論調支持敘利亞阿塞德政權的立場明顯不同。
 
拉夫桑賈尼還說，敘利亞人民先前被政府當成施放化武的對象，不久後又將成為「外國攻擊的目標」，語帶憐憫。另外，沙烏地阿拉伯外長法伊沙（Saud al-Faisal）1日則是敦促阿拉伯國家，一定要支持美國動武制裁敘利亞的行動，法伊沙表示，國際社會對敘利亞的援助，可以結束目前血流成河的內戰殺戮；阿爾巴尼亞1日也公開支持美國以軍事行動制裁敘利亞。
