【綜合報導】電影【美國鼠譚】中的小老鼠會在想念家人時唱出《遠方某處》（Somewhere out There），但根據一項研究顯示，中美洲真有兩種老鼠，因會發出高頻率的聲音被稱為「唱歌老鼠」。
 
哥斯大黎加和巴拿馬兩國的研究員早前研究牠們的特性，發現牠們可以透過震動聲帶發出高分貝聲音吸引異性、威嚇敵人及宣示領土主權。研究員又指，很多囓齒動物包括倉鼠都能發出複雜的聲音，但由於音頻太高，所以普通人聽不到。
