隨著節能減碳的趨勢已成為全球社會與車壇發展的顯學之後，有愈來愈多的Hybrid、插電式Hybrid（Plug in Hybrid）或是純電動車款也因此孕育而生，在國內其實有不少的新能源車款在道路上奔馳，但由於配套措施的不足，多數的市售車款皆是以燃燒汽油作為唯一動力來源的傳統Hybrid車型為主，能夠進一步以充電方式獲取能源的插電式Hybrid或是純電動車款，目前都僅以試營運的方式在有限的地區提供服務，並沒有實際售予消費者的動作。
