台灣的新住民及其子女已達數十萬人，內政部長李鴻源建議政府應成立專責單位，建構更友善的移民環境。（資料照）

內政部長李鴻源今（16）日出席「2013新移民關懷國際研討會」時表示，政府應成立專責單位，以有效整合、分配相關資源，才能真正照顧新住民，建立友善的移民環境。
李鴻源在研討會上致詞時表示，台灣人口結構持續改變，目前在台灣的新住民約有48萬人，就讀國中、小學的新住民子女則有20萬人，新住民及其子女面臨語言文化隔閡、生活適應不良、就業權益困境、子女教養衝突等問題。
李鴻源表示，雖然內政部與教育部合作推動「全國新住民火炬計畫」，推動移民相關輔導及照顧，不過政府應該要進一步建立專責機構，才有辦法把資源、人力、政策完整地訂出來，「錢」的問題當然很重要，但「不是最重要」，最重要的是目前沒有人在擬一個整體的政策。
李鴻源進一步表示，移民政策跨及內政部、教育部、勞委會、社福單位等相關領域，成立移民政策專責單位不見得是要成立一個部會，最重要的是要能授權某個單位進行資源整合、分配，並適時鬆綁不合時宜的法規，才能建構友善的移民環境。
