NBA新球季開打在即，暑假豪華升級的籃網目標直指總冠軍，新科總教練Jason Kidd也訂出希望球隊成為聯盟防守前10強的目標。
不過聯盟前10對內線悍將Kevin Garnett來說似乎還不夠，他發出要籃網成為聯盟前3防守勁旅的豪語。
「我可不同意Kidd要求防守前10的目標，我要我們成為聯盟防守前3的強隊，並為了此目標去努力。」KG在接受《ESPN》採訪時表示。
「我覺得我們可以達到任何我們想要的目標。」Garnett進一步說明：「你必須明白防守是這項運動最困難的地方，我也和我的隊友這樣說，如果想要贏球，那我們絕對必須是防守頂尖的球隊。」
不難理解Garnett為何會如此要求防守，近2季冠軍熱火的防守成績分別是聯盟第5和第4，數據印證了要拿冠軍得靠防守的道理。
KG也透露籃網陣中以強悍防守聞名的Reggie Evans是他選擇放棄禁止交易條款的原因之一，表示自己一直是Evans的球迷，兩人激烈的防守風格十分相近。 (接下一頁)
