使貪婪的人廉潔，使懦弱的人堅定心志。形容仁德之人，對社會有很大的感化力量。見「頑廉懦立」條。清˙方宗誠˙古文簡要敘：「可以廉頑而立懦者，苟非有文以紀之，則又何以昭法戒，而使後人多識多聞以畜其德。」

2.粟 ㄙㄨˋ:

杯水粒粟 ㄅㄟ ㄕㄨㄟˇ ㄌㄧˋ ㄙㄨˋ
極少量的食物。宋˙洪邁˙夷堅丙志˙卷十八˙張拱遇仙：「雖逾旬涉月，杯水粒粟無所須。」
