彰化銀行2日召開董事會，雖然彰銀總經理唐楚烈預告，對於「台新銀、彰銀合併研究案」公民股將有激烈攻防，不過，台新金發言人林維俊表示，在公、民股董事各自陳述意見後，合併研究案已經董事會「洽悉」通過，完成法定程序，之後台新金將先放緩推動合併案的腳步。
彰銀晚間也發布重訊指出，有關董事會議程報告的合併研究案，已在會議中經財政部法人代表董事、台新金法人代表董事及2名獨立董事各述己見，充分表達各方立場，相關發言將會詳實列入會議記錄，會議過程平和順利。
由於目前彰銀董事共有9席，其中台新金有5席，財政部有2席，另2席獨立董事也由財政部指派，不過，台新金仍握有席次優勢，林維俊表示，在公、民股董事各自陳述意見後，合併研究案完成「洽悉」的法定程序，他也強調，台新金接下來將放緩合併推動的腳步。
台新金總經理饒世湛2日下午出席台新銀行冠名贊助4D劇場美女與野獸記者會後受訪時也強調，台新金的立場自始至終都是這樣，而且在聲明稿也已經說過，希望大家能多溝通，以一個平和的方式來解決。
此外，對於台新金以2席法人代表的優勢，在彰銀常董會表決通過台新銀與彰銀合併研究案，財政部認為於法不合，行文金管會調查，林維俊說，金管會已回函並沒有違法，在2日彰銀董事會上也有將此文件提出，並給所有董事過目，包括公股董事。 (接下一頁)
